History
The idea originated in 2000 at a Cornish pub when three friends were discussing their genealogy interests. (For more
details,
see this page.) It spread via the Cornish Mailing Lists and family researchers volunteered to take
on a parish. Currently (2008) several other Counties are covered by
similar schemes.
